Never write reviews but let me tell you, if you want a personalized tour and feel for the country Peter is the way to go. We were on our way back to D.C. from Nairobi and had a last minute layover of 6 hrs. We booked the night before and it was the best decision ever. Peter not only was very informative but also extreme friendly and open. We got to see Amsterdam for what it really was (the whole nine yards). You will regret if you go elsewhere. Thank you Peter!

Thank you so much for the sweet review, Ura! It was a really nice trip and yes, you got to see a great deal of life in Amsterdam. Hope to see you in D.C. or elsewhere on the planet ;-).

We had an amazing time touring Amsterdam with Pj and Juliette! They were very friendly and knowledgeable and showed us a lot in such a short amount of time. They were accommodating with the extra things we wanted to do. This tour is a must do if you only have a few hours in Amsterdam! Thank you again! We had a blast and will definitely keep in touch the next time we visit!

It was an amazing and efficient 7 hours trip to Amsterdam with PJ and Juliette. It was perfect customized trip that included points of my interest (Van Gogh Museum only 😂) and all additions from you. PJ handled the trip with very good planning and time management. Also, it didn’t feel like I was meeting someone from website but you guys made me feel like I was visiting friends. I would definitely recommend LocalLayover.com to visitors out there and reach out to you next time when I am visiting. Special thanks to Juliette for sharing the tea and chocolate with me, and you don’t forget the grocery bags in the boat next time 😂. You guys rock!

    Thanks again, Megha.

Having found myself with a 7 hour layover in Amsterdam before heading back to the USA afforded me a great opportunity to see Amsterdam with a local. I did a google search, skipped a few pages as to get away from the click ads and found http://www.locallayover.com which is owned and operated by a fine young entrepreneur PJ.

PJ met me at the airport, escorted me for the 15 minute train ride to the city. During the
train ride we mapped out where we were going. Truth be told I haven’t been on a bike in years
and hesitated thinking that I’d be sweaty all the way back to the States. The 3.5 hours we spent touring the city was completely relaxed … either a leisurely bike ride, a leisurely walk or a leisurely boat ride never breaking a sweat.

PJ was conscience of the time at all times. He also had alerts if there were any changes to my flight and average time to get through security.

Amsterdam is lucky to have a great ambassador like PJ. I highly recommend this layover tour.

Thanks you so much for your recommendation and compliments, Michael. It was genuinely a super nice, sunny and relaxing Sunday morning together. I wouldn’t tell you hadn’t biked in a few years, haha ;-)!

My boyfriend & I had a 4 to 5 hour layover in Amsterdam (from LAX to Zurich). I googled “what to do with few hours in Amsterdam” & was lucky to find this site. My BF, who had no idea I planned this, was quite surprised when Peter picked us up at the airport & had a sign with our names on it. With limited time, we managed to do almost everything on the schedule. It included train, bike & boat. Along the way, he’d give a little history or explanation of sites. He answered all of our silly questions, from transportation to prostitution. When time was short, he gave us options so we could choose to either speed through something or skip. Best part was the boat ride! We enjoyed the stroopwaffle dessert, too. Peter is trustworthy & flexible. He will make sure you get to your plane with time to spare. Only thing we never got was the polaraoid pic on the list, but maybe we misunderstood. Amsterdam, it’s people, & the city itself –> charming! Thank you Peter for making it a memorable experience. We loved every moment of the local layover tour.

Thank you so much for this review, Lorena! So funny you booked the LocalLayover.com trip without telling your boyfriend! It was very nice to meet you, entrepreneurs from the other side of the world! Good stories about the live music bar you run back in LA made it very interesting. My polaroid camera broke down a few weeks ago, so I’d to remove the polaroid photo from the things included. Hope you had a good time at your cousin in Switserland. Thanks for your review and see you in LA!

Wow! Never have I experienced a layover like this. I was lucky to find this website and book a tour. Within a few hours of booking PJ sent an email of a possible itenerary and had very clear instructions on how to exit the airport and meet him. He was waiting with a sign with my name on it as I exited customs. He handled everything from there. I never felt concerned about where we were going or what to do. Throughout our few hours together he regularly updated me on the status of my flight and the wait time of the security line.
I was nervous about biking around the city but it was easy and wonderful. We saw special sites and places that only a local would know about. PJ made sure I saw everything I wanted to. He gave great insight and history of the places we saw. The highlight of the tour was the canal ride on PJ’s boat. Seeing the city how a local does. We headed back to the airport and PJ escorted me directly to the correct security gate. I didn’t have to worry about navigating the very busy airport by myself.
What a beautiful day and way to really see Amsterdam!
I really can’t say enough how I enjoyed this tour. It was a 5of 5 star experience. I recommend this experience without a single reservation.
